American girl seeking friends Greetings from across the pond! Since joining the Passions Network I've often considered adding the U.K. to my list of interests...and I'm glad that I finally had the nerve to do so.

It's probably true that most Americans don't know the first thing about people from the United Kingdom...and I suppose the opposite is true too. So I thought I'd try to do my part to address that little deficiency.

One of my best friends from my early years was a darling girl from Birmingham, of whom I miss dearly. One thing I learned from her friendship is that with all our little differences...we're very much alike. I guess I joined up to let people know that not all Yanks are arrogant, Cadillac-driving, gun-toting war-mongers. I'm sure there are a few, but I can't say I've ever met one. The truth is...no one really drives Cadillacs anymore...and we voted our war-mongering president out of office. THANK GOD!

Anyway, I'm a big fan of British culture, music, cinema, literature, and just the people in general. And I'm always eager to learn more.

I just got the "Spaced" DVD box set a few weeks ago...and I think I've watched it from front to back about 20 times already. I just can't get enough of that Simon Pegg.

I've never been to the U.K., but it has always been a dream of mine to someday visit.

So don't be a stranger, for I'd love to make your acquaintance.
